Scavenger Hunts, Daybook Notes and Reflections

Vintage-This is a typical weekend for me when the time allows.

Looking for wild field flowers to capture in a photo.

B♥ took this and I am surprised of the outcome.

I added vintage with a little florabella texture.

Quote- Mary Oliver is one of my favorite poets.

Her words have soul and life to them.

Natures Own- This was taken with my pudding camera app.

These were some mighty big clouds forming, I am still

amazed by the sky and clouds.

People- These are people in my life. I always say my

father is one of the last cowboys.

He doesn't like to pose for shots ( he doesn't know I don't care

for the posed shots either. I love just waiting for the natural

smiles and emotions to happen.)

I love that I have this of him.

Choice- a small moment at the Sweet Family farmhouse where

I am photographing my last series of pictures before it is torn down.

This was an afternoon picture. The house was dark and quiet

and Maddie obliged for this shot. It is one of my favorites.

* * * For Today * * *

Outside my window the rain is gently laying a mist on the grass.
I am thinking about spring activites and plans for summer getaways.
I am thankful for the quiet here in this space I occupy at this moment.
In the kitchen a cat sits in the windowsill watching the rain and listening to a bird sing.
I am wearing my most comfortable pair of lounge pants because I have been
tending to a little spring cleaning all morning.
I am creating a new link up party here where we all can gather and share our art.
I am going to look for some of our Missouri mushrooms very soon as the
warm weather came very early this year and we have many edible varieties.
(Yes I use a handbook, always for mushroom hunting)
I am wondering what kind of summer weather we will have.
I am reading" The Help". I have seen the movie and wanted to read the
story in detail.
I am hoping to have my house on the market in a month.
I am looking forward to settling with B♥, for a slower pace, and more
time for my photography.
I am learning the art of faith all over again.
Around the house there are telltale signs of upheaval. Boxes packed,
cabinets slowly emptying.
I am pondering about my career as a full time nurse.
I feel a need for change lately, as in less hours in nursing
and more time with home and family.
A fave quote for today,
“But I also say this: that light is an invitation to happiness, and that happiness, when it's done right, is a kind of holiness, palpable and redemptive. ”
Mary Oliver

One of my favorite things is my early morning quiet when everyone is sleeping
and I can sit and listen to them sleep and turn in their beds.
A few plans for the rest of the week: a new treadmill, painting a bathroom,
cooking some new organic meals.

A peek into my day:

Our little morning moment. What do you think guys?

I announced my giveaway here. It will be open until the end of this month.

  4. What gorgeous photography. You are so very talented and have turned your pictures into works of art. That next to the last one is captivating...the one of the girl in the house. I cannot take my eyes off of it. Love the photo of your dad...it worked out beautifully in sepia. genie

  6. Love your People picture! I love that your Dad is not posing...he looks like a rugged Cowboy, but the fact that he's sitting there letting you take his photo shows he has a soft-spot for you.
